Actually, his father had to sell a farm at Motipur to finance his child’s cricketing ambitions. But when Vaibhav was nine years of age, his father with the help of a coach put him in a cricket academy in the neighboring town of Samastipur. Far ahead of any talent spotting his age, at only twelve Vaibhav was playing for Bihar in Vinoo Mankad Trophy scoring almost 400 plus runs through five matches only.
