Playing first-class cricket, Abbas Afridi started his professional cricket career performing at List A format for Habib Bank Limited in the Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup 2018. He also started in first-class cricket in the same year during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. After securing his place in Pakistan’s team for the Under 19 World Cup held in 2020. In this world cup he was the leading wicket taker for Pakistan.
He played for Karachi Kings in Pakistan’s franchise cricket but only in 2021 and then switched to Multan Sultans. He was able to claim the trophy of the best bowler in PSL 2023 where he took 23 wickets and was trending worldwide. In the Global T20 Canada league, Abbas too proved himself wherein he got a hat-trick for the Montreal Tigers.
Abbas featured in his first international match in T20I format on the 12 th January in the year 2024 against New Zealand bowling three maidens and claiming three wickets on 34. He was also included in Pakistan’s list for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
