2nd T20I Match 13 Dec, 2024 (SuperSport Park)

In the second T20I match, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. After the departure of the captain, Pakistan didn’t lose any wicket till the 12th over. Siam Ayub nearly hitted his maiden T20I century, adding 98 runs just off 57 balls. And Pakistan was able to get over 200 runs. Then South African batsmen entered the ground, and completely conquered it by hitting balls out of the boundaries. ‘Reeza Handricks’ was the centurion of the match with 117 runs in 63 balls. In the last over of the game van der Dussen finished the game for SOuth Africa by a six.

Pakistan Sweeps Off South Africa with 3-0 in ODI Series

The ODI series was scheduled to play from 17 – 22 December, 2024. The venues decided for the matches were Paarl, Cape Town, and Johannesburg. Again the South African team comes with their regular ODI squad with minimal changes. And Pakistan also continued with their regular ODI squad with some modifications.

1st ODI Match 17 Dec, 2024 (Boland Park)

In the first ODI match, South Africa decided to bat first after winning the toss. And after a strong opening partnership, South Africa started losing wickets in bunches. Markram and Klaasen balanced the site by building a good partnership. Klaasen was the top scorer with 86 runs and South Africa only able to make 239 runs in 50 overs. Pakistan also lost some early wickets. But Saim Ayub holded the innings from his end, Later Salman Agha supported him. And in the last over of the game Salman ended the thriller match by four.

2nd ODI Match 19 Dec, 2024 (Newlands)

In the second ODI match, South Africa invited Pakistan after winning the toss. The iconic pair of Pakistan, Babbar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan added more than 100 runs together. And after their dismissal Kamran gave the finishing touch to Pakistan’s innings. And Pakistan made a huge total of 329 runs. The struggle of the South African team started at the end of the 6th over, when the skipper departed on the last ball of the over. Only Klaasen was able to perform but missed his century by 3 runs. And Pakistan easily wrapped up South Africa on 248 runs.

3rd ODI Match 22 Dec, 2024 (The Wanderers Stadium)

In the last ODI match, South Africa again got coin at their side and they decided to bowl. First Saim Ayub, then Babbar and then Rizwan continued to impress everyone by their batting. Saim Ayub completed his 3rd ODI century in Johannesburg. Again Pakistan crossed the 300 runs mark. And South Africa continued to fail, After the first wicket was down. The South African team started losing wickets. ‘Sufiyan Muqeem’ took four wickets to knock down South Africa’s innings.

2 Test Match Series

The Test series is scheduled to play from 27 December, 2024 – 07 January, 2025. The venues for matches were Centurion and Cape Town. South Africa came with the same playing IX. Meanwhile, Pakistan picked a new captain for Test Matches, ‘Shan Masood’. And continued with 2 more new changes.

1st Test Match 26 – 30 Dec, 2024 (SuperSport Park)

In the first test match, South Africa invited Pakistan to bat first after winning the toss. And Wrapped up Pakistan’s innings on the first day of the match. Dane Paterson took a 5-wicket haul for South Africa. While batting South Africa played exceptionally and built a 89 runs lead over Pakistan. When Pakistan came to bat again, they faced the same problem and got out under 250 runs. 

Marco Jansen took 6 wickets and totally broke down Pakistan’s innings. While chasing a small target, South Africa trembled. Kagiso Rabada and Jansen rescued Africa from the loss and won the match by 3 wickets. Mohammad Abbas was the top wicket taker for Pakistan with total 8 wickets in the match.
